'Evan's' Sour Cherry

Self pollinating cherry that has been grown in the Edmonton area since 1923, and is also someimtes known as Horsehills Cherry.  Masses of white blossoms in the spring and attractive reddish bark.  The fruit at first is orangey red in colour and quite sour, but if you leave the fruit on until it...

'Schubert' Chokecherry

Leaves are green turning reddish-purple in June.  Fragrant white flowers in clusters and black fruit.  Lighter red fall leaf color. (8m ht. 5m sp.)

"Sk. Carmine' Jewel

Introduction from the U of Sask.  Juicy dark red fruit weighs about 4 grams.  Ripens in mid-July.  They have a higher sugar content but because of the citric acid they are tart.  Fruit gets sweeter the longer it remains on the tree. (2m ht. 2m sp.)

Amur Cherry
