Description :
Cones are retained for several years, resulting in a coarse appearance. Trunk bark is dark and later develops scaly ridges. Branchlets yellow to greenish-brown when young, turning gray-brown with age. Two twisted, divergent needles, yellow-green in color. Needles are shorter than Scots Pine (18m ht. 6m sp.)
